![]() Blessings to everyone! As the Wheel of the Year continues to turn, we once again find the sunlight soaking into the ground and thawing the soil. The Earth stirs as it begins to wake up and new growth begins. Traditionally on February 1st and 2nd we celebrate the sabbat called Imbolc. This time commemorates the changing of the goddess from the Crone to the Maiden and celebrates the first signs of Spring. It is a time to cleanse, clear, heal and be inspired to create new magic in your life! This season prepares for growth and renewal and honors and welcomes the rebirth of the sun. Here are a few ways you can celebrate Imbolc;
Food: Seeds, dairy products, onions, garlic, herbal teas, muffins Incense: Frankincense, Myrrh, Jasmine, Vanilla, Cinnamon Crystals: Ruby, Amethyst, Bloodstone, Garnet, Turquoise Herbs: Angelica, Basil, Bay laurel, Ginger, Myrrh Flowers: Daffodils, Crocus, Snow Drops, white and yellow flowers. There are many way we can celebrate Imbolc, what ways do you like to honor the shift in energy? Leave a comment and share your favorite ritual or celebration. Smudge, cleanse, repeat! Smudge, cleanse, repeat! When I think of the Holiday season I think about the weather turning colder and spending more time indoors. I think about hot chocolate, warm fires, traditions, gathering with family and friends and lots of yummy food! Unfortunately when I think about the Holiday season I also think about the hustle and bustle that the season brings and the stress that can wear us down... Everything in the universe is energy. Our words, our thoughts and our actions all leave a residue of energy or what is also called energetic debris. The intense energy and stress, that people tend to carry more of this time of year, is swirling around and can easily affect you, especially if your a highly sensitive person (HSP) or empathic. It is important to have an awareness about your energy and how your physically feeling, as well as learning how to manage that energy. If your an HSP or empathic it's even more imperative because you can take this energy on as your own. I wanted to share with you a few ways that can help you become aware of your personal energy and how to release energy that no longer serves you. By removing stagnant or unwanted energy and replacing it with high vibrational energy, you will realign your personal energy, sacred space and create a more balanced environment. 1. Morning check-in: In the mornings one of the first things you should try to do is take 5 minutes to breathe deeply and take an account of how your body physically feels. Is there anything your concerned about? Are you stressed about something? Getting a baseline of how your physically feeling will help you have a more clear awareness of when your energy is off due to other people's energy. 2. Practice grounding: Practicing grounding will help you stay healthy physically and energetically. Physically grounding, also known as "Earthing" putting your bare feet on the Earth, connects you on a cellular level. Mother Earth provides electrons that get soaked up through your bare feet and energizes and supports your body as a whole. Energetically grounding your Spirit to the Earth is also a very helpful tool. You can imagine yourself connected by creating a grounding cored that connects from your root chakra and reaches down and anchors you to center of the Earth. This keeps your energy flowing and creates a oneness with the Earth. Practicing this technique aligns your chakra system and clears energy that no longer serves you. However you decide to do it, Grounding as a whole offers clarity and helps you stay balanced. 3. Boundaries: It's ok to say no! Being sensitive to energy can make you sensitive to other people's feelings as well and can make setting boundaries difficult. It is a good thing to care about others, but there is a difference between being empathetic and being an Empathic. Being empathetic, or having empathy for others, means your in tune with other peoples' feelings and experiences. Being Empathic refers to someone who takes empathy a significant step further. An Empath is able to literally feel and take on other people’s feelings as if they are experiencing those feelings themselves. You can absorb those feelings into your own system and may not even know it! Everyone comes from different life situations and sometimes the Holiday season can be full of stressful events. Between financial stress, family conflicts and social anxiety, sometimes it can be too overwhelming. Allow yourself to say no if your feeling like you need space or need certain boundaries to feel safe, maybe you skip that office party this year or only go to one family member's house instead of three! Boundaries are one of the most important things you can do to honor your intuition and protect your energy. 4. Cleanse your energy! If your attending someone's party or having people over, another step you can take to manage stress is to cleanse your energy! Everyone carries their own energetic baggage wherever they go, and if they are unaware of it like most people are, it can really throw off your balance. Cleansing yourself as well as the space where the activity was held will help to re-align and balance everything back out. Invite positive high vibrational energy in to fill up your space to shift the energy. (Click here to check out my smudging tips for more information.) The Holiday season should be full of love, laughter and gratitude, but things happen... Having an awareness of what you need and what you can do to achieve it will help you manage your stress. You can use these tips daily or just when you need them! "May your heart be a light as a snowflake, your troubles melt away like snow and a drift of blessings surround you." Seasons Blessings! There have been a lot of energetic shifts and physical changes over the past 8 months.
